Speeches and presentations
The opening session of the 2007 Forum took place on June 13 in the Riksdag in Stockholm, where H.E. Mr Vuk Jeremic among others held a keynote speech. The opening session was followed by two parallel panel sessions on "Empowerment - the role and responsibilities of parliamentarians".
The second day of the Forum took place in Sigtuna where four different sub themes, "Representative democracy for a new era", "Empowerment of the individual - non-discrimination", "The involvement of civil society - the respect for freedom of expression and freedom of association" and "Fostering democracy, human rights and social networks - ways forward" were discussed in panel sessions and smaller groups.
