A new Swedish Africa policy
Sweden's cooperation with Africa is based on the written communication the Government presented to the Riksdag on 12 March 2008: "Sweden and Africa - a policy to address common challenges and opportunities".
Sweden's new Africa policy is based on the positive changes Africa has experienced during the past decade and on developments in Africa's relations with the rest of the world, including Sweden. The communication starts out from the processes of change that are under way in Africa and describes the challenges and opportunities facing the continent in its efforts to eliminate poverty and achieve sustainable development.
