Summary
Under most of the conventions on international cooperation relating to criminal and civil matters, states are required to appoint a central authority to serve as a contact point for the cooperation. The Division for Criminal Cases and International Judicial Cooperation (BIRS) at the Ministry of Justice is the Swedish central authority for this cooperation.
