Nyamko Sabuni opens Rights Work!
On Thursday November 6, Nyamko Sabuni, Swedish Minister of Integration and Gender Equality opened the Conference Rights Work with an opening speech.
Foreign ambassadors at reception
To mark the 60th anniversary of the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Minister for Integration and Gender Equality Nyamko Sabuni invited foreign ambassadors to a reception on United Nations Day at which she also took the opportunity to tell them about the conference "Rights Work!".
The minister of Gender Equality in The Democratic Republic of the Congo visits Sweden
The Minister of Integration and Gender Equality, Nyamko Sabuni, met today with Philomène Omatuku, The Minister of Gender Equality in The Democratic Republic of the Congo, who's visiting Sweden at the moment. The meeting was an opportunity for the ministers to exchange experiences on their countries work in fighting men's' violence against women. Philomène Omatuku described how difficult the situation is for women in Congo and emphasised the importance of that women who has been exposed to violence receives the help they need, which is not often the case in Congo. Nyamko Sabuni informed about the national action plan the Swedish Government has adopted and emphasised the importance of coordination, to work preventively and having an effective legal system.
