• Legislation

  Legislation concerning constitutional law, civil law, procedural law, and penal law.
  

• The judicial system

  The Police authorities, the Public prosecution service, the courts, the Prison and Probation Service etc.
  

• Criminal Matters

  The Government acts as sole judicial authority pronouncing decisions in about 1500 criminal matters every year.

• International Judicial Cooperation

  Tasks undertaken by the Ministry of Justice in connection with international judicial cooperation include reception, scrutiny and forwarding of requests to and from Sweden in matters concerning for example international legal assistance in criminal matters and extradition for criminal offences.

• Justice and Home Affairs in the EU

  The Justice and Home Affairs Council deals with such issues as police cooperation, cooperation against terrorism, criminal justice cooperation and issues involving civil justice.
