  • Financial security for the sick and disabled

    The national target for reducing ill health in working life: Absence from working life due to illness shall be halved by 2008 compared with 2002. Concurrently, the number of new cases of activity compensation and sickness compensation must decline. Demographic developments will be taken into account.

  • Financial security in old age

    People with a low or no income-related pension shall be guaranteed index-linked basic protection. Surviving spouses shall be given reasonable financial support to help them during the adjustment period following the death of their spouse.
