The Prime Minister's Office leads and coordinates work in the Government Offices and is responsible for coordination of Swedish EU policy. The Prime Minister has overall responsibility for Sweden's EU policy. The Prime Minister's Office also includes the Minister for EU Affairs and her office. The Minister for EU Affairs is in charge of EU issues involving several policy areas, such as the EU Treaty, the EU's long-term budget and preparations for the Swedish Presidency in the autumn of 2009. The Prime Minister's Office also includes an office for coordination of EU affairs - the EU Department - where officials deal with practical coordination of Government Offices EU work and general EU issue
