"One of my major aims is to improve access to health and medical care. Most of us think that once we start receiving care everything works well, but getting there often involves a very long process. I want to shorten waiting lists and remove obstacles so that we can get more actors in the health and elderly care sectors. More actors lead to greater freedom of choice for patients and an opportunity to compare the quality of care. Patients - not the system - must be at the heart of Swedish health and medical care."
