New Swedish EU Ambassador appointed
Today the Government appointed Christian Danielsson as Sweden's Permanent Representative at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union in Brussels.
Christian Danielsson is currently head of the European Commission Directorate for the three candidate countries Turkey, Croatia and Macedonia.
He has previously served as Head of Unit at the European Commission with responsibility for Turkey's membership negotiations, as Deputy Head of Cabinet to Commissioner Günter Verheugen, at the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union, as a member of Commissioner Anita Gradin's Cabinet, at Sweden's former Delegation to the European Union, at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, at the Delegation of Sweden to the OECD and at the Swedish Embassy in Luanda.
Christian Danielsson will take up his appointment after the summer of 2008 and will replace Sven-Olof Petersson, who will become Sweden's Ambassador in Australia.
