Carl Bildt on the decision by Turkey's constitutional court

Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt is very satisfied with the decision by Turkey's constitutional court concerning the ruling AK Party.

"I am very pleased to note that the attempts to carry out, in the guise of legal action, what would in effect have been a coup against the elected government in Turkey have today been rejected," said Mr Bildt when he commented on the court decision on Wednesday.

"Now there is once again a good chance of a clear reform process in Turkey. It is my hope that the Erdogan government will now accelerate the necessary democratic reform process in the country," states Mr Bildt.
