Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development
An EU-Africa Ministerial Conference on Migration and Development is being held in Paris on Tuesday 25 November. The Conference is a continuation of the process begun in Rabat in July 2006. Sweden will be represented by Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy Tobias Billström and State Secretary Joakim Stymne.
Discussion between Russia and Sweden on trafficking in human beings and exploitation of children
Minister for Justice Beatrice Ask has visited Moscow, where she met Russia's Minister of Justice Aleksandr Konovalov and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nikolai Ovchinnikov. Ms Ask informed her Russian colleagues of Sweden's priorities ahead of its upcoming Presidency of the EU, and discussed how to further develop cooperation with Russia on combating crime.

The Ministry of Justice is responsible for legislation concerning the constitution and general administrative law, civil law, procedural law and criminal law. The Ministry also handles matters relating to migration and asylum policy.
In the international arena, the Ministry takes part in efforts to lay the groundwork for international cooperation against cross-border crime.
Minister for Justice Beatrice Ask is head of the Ministry. Tobias Billström is Minister for Migration and Asylum Policy. The Ministry is divided in 18 divisions.
