Museums together
The ATCM will be held in the Museum Park on Djurgården, where three museums operate within a radius of a couple of hundred metres: the National Museum of Science and Technology, the National Museum of Ethnography and the National Maritime Museum. The 300 ATCM delegates will meet in the National Museum of Science and Technology and, in conjunction with the conference, a number of exhibitions and activities connected with Antarctica and the conference theme will be arranged for the general public as well as the delegates. Special programmes will also be organised for schools.

The National Museum of Science and Technology
The National Museum of Science and Technology will be showing how research is carried out in Antarctica and how it is possible to work in extreme environments under difficult conditions. Swedish tracked vehicles that are used for transportation across the ice will also be demonstrated.

National Museum of Ethnography
The National Museum of Ethnography will mount exhibitions on the polar theme, including a collection of unique pictures from 1883 of the indigenous people of Tierra del Fuego who still lived there at that time.

National Maritime Museum
The National Maritime Museum will show exhibits and documentation on Captain Olof Gyldén's relief expedition to Antarctica which searched for members of Otto Nordenskjöld's expedition to the South Pole more than 100 years ago.

During their work in Stockholm, conference participants will also become acquainted with the Royal Ship Vasa.

Museum of Natural History
A fourth museum which is not located in the Museum Park on Djurgården but is also included in the ATCM cooperation project is the Museum of Natural History (Frescativägen 40). The remarkable climate exhibition Mission: Climate Earth will be open to both the general public and the delegates. Another attraction is Cosmonova, Swedens only IMAX cinema which shows films in the worlds largest film format.
