Authorities

The Ministry of Enterprise, Energy and Communications has overall charge of the activities of 28 central government agencies, including four public enterprises and one court. The authorities are responsible for the day-to day running of the central government administration. The nature and scope of their activities are defined by government objectives and guidelines and further determined by the allocation of funds for their operations.

  • National Post and Telecom Agency (Post- och telestyrelsen, PTS)

  • National Public Transport Agency (Rikstrafiken)

  • National Rail Administration (Banverket)

    The National Rail Administration is the authority responsible for rail traffic in Sweden. They follow and conduct development in the railway sector, assist Parliament and the Government with railway issues, are responsible for the operation and management of state track installations, co-ordinate the local, regional and inter-regional railway services, and provide support for research and development in the rail sector.
