The World Energy Outlook is the flagship publication of the International Energy Agency. It has long been recognised as the authoritative source of global long-term energy market analysis.
The seminar with IEA Chief Economist Fatih Birol focused on the pathway for the energy sector to achieve a transition to a low-carbon world. World Energy Outlook 2009 contains updated projections that take into account the implications of the global credit crisis, the economic slowdown and the recent slump in the prices of oil and other forms of energy.
At a seminar on November 20, arranged by the Commission on Sustainable Development, the IEA presented the World Energy Outlook 2009 to policy-makers and experts in Europe.
