The Baltic region is one of the fastest growing areas in the world. Sweden and Swedish enterprise play a central role in this dynamic process. The Baltic Billion Funds are an important component of Sweden's overall Baltic policy.

The Swedish Riksdag (parliament) has approved SEK 2 billion, through the Baltic Billion Funds 1 and 2, specifically to stimulate economic exchange, growth and employment in Sweden and the Baltic region, and to strengthen the position of Swedish companies in the region.
