Areas of responsibility

The Office for Administrative Affairs acts as a joint resource for the Government Offices and is responsible for administrative concerns of a cross-ministerial nature.

The Office for Administrative Affairs:

  • Drives and coordinates measures for change and renewal in the Government Offices and develops new management and working methods
  • Coordinates expenditure area 1 in the national budget and is responsible for the administration appropriation for the Government Offices
  • Is responsible for planning and follow-up of the Government Offices financial accounting and reporting
  • Coordinates and develops the Government Offices employer and human resources policy, provision of qualified staff, working environment, IT support, archives and registers, library issues and information and communication
  • Is responsible for internal services to the ministries, for example supply of premises, procurement, committee services, security protection and preparedness, telephone service, cleaning and supply and distribution service
