Minister for Trade to attend WTO ministerial conference in Geneva

Minister for Trade Ewa Björling will today attend the World Trade Organisation (WTO) ministerial conference. Delegates from all of the 153 member states will be taking part in the conference on 30 November - 2 December.

The ministerial conference will discuss the multilateral trade system in light of the economic crisis as well as current issues in the WTO work programme. The Minister for Trade will address the conference plenary session, take part in various bilateral meetings and two working sessions around two themes: Review of WTO activities, including the Doha Work Programme, and The WTO's contribution to recovery, growth and development.

The theme of the ministerial conference is "WTO, the Multilateral Trading System and the Global Economic Environment".
