Invitation to a press meeting - Gunilla Carlsson to meet the new UN Representative on violence against children
On Monday 6 July Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson will meet Marta Santos Pais, the UN Special Representative on Violence against Children.
They will meet at the EU NGO Forum on Human Rights focusing on violence against children. This meeting is the largest event on the theme of human rights that Sweden is hosting during its Presidency.
Marta Santos Pais was appointed the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General on Violence against Children on 1 May. Her position is funded from voluntary contributions. Sweden is strongly committed to action to combat violence against children and also contributes to this funding.
The media are invited to follow the plenary sessions on Monday and Tuesday (see special invitation).
