Fredrik Reinfeldt participating in meeting of European Council on 18-19 June

On Thursday, 18 June and Friday 19 June, Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Minister for Foreign Affairs Carl Bildt and Minister for EU affairs Cecilia Malmström will be in Brussels to participate in the meeting of the European Council. On Wednesday evening Mr Reinfeldt will participate in a working dinner on the Baltic Energy Market Interconnection Plan (BEMIP) hosted by the Commission.

The European Council meeting on Thursday and Friday will adress various issues, including the continued development and management of the economic and financial crisis, as well as the work of preparing a new regulatory framework for financial supervision at EU level. The climate issue will also be discussed in order to arrive at a new climate agreement in Copenhagen during the Swedish Presidency. The legal guarantees to Ireland will also be dealt with, as well as the nomination of a new President of the Commission.
