Climate issue on the agenda for Ban Ki-moon's visit to Sweden

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon will visit Sweden on 1-2 October.

During his visit he will meet Prime Minister Fredrik Reinfeldt, Minister for International Development Cooperation Gunilla Carlsson and the Speaker of the Riksdag, Per Westerberg.

The meeting with the Prime Minister and the Minister for International Development Cooperation will focus on the status of the climate negotiations and current UN issues.

The Secretary-General's programme also includes an audience with the King and a meeting with students at Kulturama to talk about climate issues. Ban Ki-moon will also visit Uppsala, where he will give a lecture at the university and visit Dag Hammarskjöld's grave.

The visit will close with a roundtable discussion with non-governmental organisations hosted by the United Nations Association of Sweden.
