Sweden top of the class
The volume of Swedish development assistance is the highest in the world, according to the OECD Development Assistance Committee (DAC), which today published its peer review of Swedish development assistance.
Sweden contributes 0.98 per cent of its GNI and according to Karen Joergensen, Head of the DAC Review and Evaluation Division, is the most generous donor country.
"It is very gratifying that this year's DAC peer review has such a positive tone, and that Sweden has been given very good marks as a development assistance donor and a leader with regard to responsibility, predictability, volume and aid effectiveness," says State Secretary Joakim Stymne.
The DAC recommendations have served as an important starting point in the Government's efforts to improve quality, results and effectiveness.
