How does it feel?
Fantastic! Chile was number one on my wish list!
What does the job in Chile mean to you professionally and personally?
Personally and professionally, it is an old dream of mine that has come true. I went to Chile for the first time in 1971 and was fascinated by the country's beauty, culture and politics, with all its incredible diversities and contrasts. I returned a few times after that - once democracy had been restored - but I have never lived in the country. After the military coup in 1973, I was very much involved in solidarity work with the people of Chile and I also worked for a while as a refugee advisor at the Swedish National Board of Health and Welfare. I have a lot of friends in Chile and I am looking forward to learning more about the country.
What will be your most important task as Sweden's Ambassador in Chile?
My most important task will be to further develop the already very good relations between our two countries in the social, cultural and trade policy areas.
