Stronger Swedish presence in Mumbai, India
Today, Tuesday 1 April, Minister for Trade Ewa Björling opened the Swedish Trade Council's new office in Mumbai. Mumbai, with more than fifteen million inhabitants, is regarded to be India's finance and entertainment centre.
"A strong presence in Mumbai, one of India's most exciting and dynamic cities, is extremely important for Swedish companies' opportunities to establish themselves and grow on the Indian market. To help further strengthen ties between our two countries, I have also invited Minister of Commerce and Industry Kamal Nath to Sweden. He hopes to be able to visit Sweden together with a business delegation as early as the spring," says Dr Björling.
During her visit to Mumbai Dr Björling also met Alan Rosling of India's largest business group, Tata.
On Monday she met India's Minister of Defence and Minister of Commerce and Industry in New Delhi.
Tomorrow, Dr Björling will be visiting a number of companies active in biotechnology, the aviation and defence industry and other sectors in Bangalore.
